HAMPTON ROADS TESTING AND STD LABS
A partnership was formed by Hampton Roads Testing (HRT) and Std Labs to establish and operate a coal testing lab in Charleston, SC. This lab was to support a terminal which began to import coal from South America. Hampton Roads Testing was a partner in SAI and since SAI was limited to providing sampling services only on the east coast of the USA, the natural alternative was for the two SAI coal testing labs to cooperatively support this effort.
Unfortunately, after only a number of months the terminal decided to discontinue the importation of coal and the lab was closed.
