After many months of negotiations Std acquired both Coal Operators Analytical Lab Inc (COAL) and Natural Earth Science Testing Services (NEST) from Margo Bartlett of Belington, WV in 2007. This purchase is discussed further under the “Acquisitions” section. The Belington lab was managed for some time in transition by Margo and was then replaced by Rick Malcolm.
Catlettsburg, KY became the first lab in the Std Labs fleet to become accredited to the ISO17025 certification. This is the main standard used by testing and calibration laboratories in most countries.
In 2007 Todd Stallard was named Manager of the Eastern Division of Std Labs after returning from a family business, Mountain Greeneries.
